Terms of use
Last updated 8 October 2026. Sortaroo is a business name of Stray Anchor Pty Ltd (ABN 22 700 917 111), Western Australia — "we" in these terms.
These terms are the agreement between you and us whenever you use Sortaroo, on the web or in the app. By signing in, you agree to them. The Privacy page says what we do with your information.
What Sortaroo does, and what it does not
Sortaroo keeps track of invoices from your support workers, helps you get the details into the NDIS portal quickly, works out which reimbursement covered which invoices, and reminds you who still needs paying.
Sortaroo never submits a claim for you, and never holds or moves money. You make every payment request in the myGov NDIS portal yourself, and you pay your workers yourself from your own bank. Sortaroo is independent software: it is not part of, or endorsed by, the NDIS, the NDIA or the Australian Government, and we are not a plan manager.
Not advice
Sortaroo is a record-keeping tool. It is not financial, tax, legal or plan-management advice, and it takes no view on whether a particular support is claimable under your plan. The reminders it shows — including the 90-day claiming deadline — are a convenience, not a guarantee. Checking that a claim is valid and made in time remains yours.
Getting it right is a shared job
Sortaroo reads invoices automatically where it can, and it can misread one. That is why every invoice it reads is shown to you to confirm before it joins your ledger. Please check the amounts and dates. We are not responsible for a claim rejected, missed or overpaid because a figure was wrong.
You decide what you pay, and to whom. Sortaroo shows payment details as they were given to it, and never makes a payment. Check the amount and the account before you pay. If a worker's bank details change, ring them on a number you already had before paying the new account.
Your account
You must be 18 or over to use Sortaroo. If you manage a plan for someone else — as their parent, carer or nominee — you must have the right to manage it, and to share its records with us.
Keep your sign-in email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Treat your invoice address and any worker links as private.
Your records are yours. You can download everything, free, at any time while your account exists (Account → Your data), and you can delete your account, and everything in it, at any time under Account. Once it is deleted there is nothing left to download, so take a copy first.
Using it fairly
Don't use Sortaroo to break the law, to send spam or harmful files, to invoice in someone else's name, or to get at anyone else's records — and don't try to break into it or overload it.
It's free
Sortaroo is free, for families and for support workers. There's no subscription and no card, and we don't show ads or sell your information.
One limit keeps it that way: each plan has up to 150 emailed invoices read for it each month. Past that, new invoices are still kept, for you to type in, and reading starts again on the 1st.
If we ever decide to charge for Sortaroo, we will email you at least 30 days before, and nothing will be charged unless you choose to pay.
The apps
The Sortaroo apps are free on the App Store and Google Play, and nothing is sold in them. When you use one, the store's own terms apply too — on the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement — and these terms apply alongside them. We, not Apple or Google, are responsible for Sortaroo and for supporting it.
Availability
We try to keep Sortaroo running and your data safe, but we do not promise it will never be unavailable. Sortaroo is free and provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for anything to do with it, including it being unavailable or closing, is limited to A$100. Nothing here excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
If Sortaroo closes
Sortaroo is free to use but not to run, so we may change it, or stop running it, at any time. If we decide to close it, we will email you at least 30 days before it closes. Until then everything keeps working, so you can download your records (Account → Your data). After it closes we delete what we hold, as the privacy page says.
Sortaroo helps you keep track; it isn't where your records are kept for the NDIS. Keep the invoices and records the NDIS asks you to keep, for five years, somewhere of your own, such as your own email.
Suspending or closing an account
You can stop at any time, and delete your account whenever you're ready. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms in a serious way, or that puts other people, their records or Sortaroo itself at risk. Unless the law or someone's safety stops us, we will tell you first, say why, and give you the chance to download your records.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. If you don't agree, you can download your records and delete your account before then.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, and its courts can hear any dispute about them. Questions: support@sortaroo.app.
